Upon the completion of this activity
the participant should be able to:
- Understand the assets
and liabilities of venous surgery in the office.
- Use ultrasound to diagnose
and manage venous disease.
- Diagnose and manage deep
vein thrombosis and hypercoagulable states.
- Describe endovenous (thermal,
chemical and surgical) modalities for closure of the refluxing
saphenous vein.
- Describe the eradication
of secondary venous clusters with phlebectomy, foam sclerotherapy,
or surgical devices.
- Manage incompetent perforating
veins and venous ulcers in the office.
- Manage spider telangiectasias
with sclerotherapy and cutaneous laser.
- Develop a business model
for the office-based vein practice.
- Incorporate modern cosmetic
enhancements into a vein practice (Botox, Restylane, and
photorejuvenation).
